Pièce 5 Francs Ceres avec Légende. Cette pièce en argent de 5 Francs, connue sous le nom d’« Écu », présente une tranche en relief gravée de l’inscription “Dieu Protège La France”.
Le profil de Cérès, tourné vers la gauche, est orné d’un collier de perles, d’un double chignon, et d’une couronne composée d’épis de blé, de fleurs, de branches d’olivier, de chêne et de glands, symbolisant l’abondance et la fertilité.
La pièce de 5 Francs Cérès de 1870 reprend les motifs créés par Eugène-André Oudiné et Joseph-François Domard.
La version sans légende, frappée à Bordeaux, se distingue aisément de celle avec légende produite à Paris.
