Numismatist Paris Buy and Sell

Numismatists are specialists in numismatics and/or coin collectors.
Numismatics is the study of coins and medals. It is an invaluable aid to numismatic collectors and a necessary part of numismatic collecting. Coin collecting has been practiced since antiquity. For most collectors, historical interest in the strict sense is secondary. Collections are undertaken for investment or savings purposes, for artistic, technical or cultural interest, or simply as a hobby. Numismatics has developed its main concepts to meet the needs of this amateur and sometimes highly specialized market.

Why call in a numismatist?

Theappraisal of a coin is highly complex, with several criteria determining the quotation and the buying and selling price. These include country of origin, face value, vintage, mint and, above all, condition. Without the requisite knowledge of numismatics, the price is almost impossible to determine.

If you try to find out the value of coins on the Internet, you'll see all sorts of prices, mainly sale prices on non-specialized sites. These prices in no way reflect the real numismatic value of your collector coin.

You need to call on the services of an experienced numismatist, and visit him or her with the collectible or coin to be appraised. In fact, a numismatist can only carry out an appraisal with the coin physically in his or her hands. In this way, a numismatic professional will have all the elements needed to determine the value of collector coins. What's more, the numismatist has an extensive network of numismatists and, above all, collectors. He's also a connoisseur of auctions. This enables him to value collector's items at their highest price.

Where to find a Numismatist in Paris

Finding a real numismatist in Paris is no easy task. Market players often call in outside consultants. They take large margins as a precaution, because they don't want to risk not being able to sell. What's more, many collector's items end up melted down, much to the dismay of numismatists.

Abacor, a French precious metals company since 1996, offers numismatic services.
Our professional numismatists welcome you in our Parisian branches, with or without appointment, from Monday to Saturday, for a free appraisal. Our numismatic experts are at your disposal to appraise your old coins, antiques, collector's items and Paris coins. They have all the records needed to know the value of the coin, old value coins or antique coins. So they'll be able to buy your collectible coin at the best price.

How do I know the value of my parts?

Collector coins are traded on a secondary market that is sometimes illiquid and often volatile. As a result, the price of collector coins can fluctuate widely, depending on the price of precious metals, rarity, appearance, or simply supply and demand.

Among the objective criteria that make up the price, thestate of preservation plays an absolutely decisive role. Numismatic associations have adopted different grading scales, with varying degrees of detail depending on the coin. Technical guides have been published detailing the aspects to be taken into account to correctly value a given coin.

Again in the USA, probably the most active numismatic market, coin grading seems to have become a national sport. U.S. coins are graded on two distinct scales, depending on whether they are circulating or collector coins. What's more, each scale has no fewer than 70 levels. The severity of the grading and the complexity of the evaluation have led to controversy and the emergence of grading companies that supply buyers with certified grade coins. In Europe, grading is traditionally limited to 5 to 8 levels, but there is a trend (particularly in the UK) to develop a 100-level scale.
