This silver 5 Franc Bonaparte coin, also known as the "Écu", depicts Napoleon I bareheaded. It was introduced by the law of 7 Germinal An XI (March 28, 1803) and formalized by the decree of 28 Germinal An XI (April 18, 1803).
This coin circulated during the Consulate period, between An XI and An XII.
