2 Francs Napoléon Empereur Tête Nue. Cette pièce de 2 Francs en argent a été instaurée par le décret du 26 juin 1804, après le sacre de Napoléon Ier, marquant la fin du Consulat. Les premières émissions suivent le calendrier républicain, d’où les appellations « An 12 », « An 13 » et « An 14 ».
It weighs 10 g, measures 27 mm and contains 900‰ of silver. Over 1.7 million have been minted.

From 1806, the Gregorian calendar replaced the Republican on Napoleonic coins. Between 1806 and 1807, 505,410 units were minted with the same characteristics. In 1809, the imperial laurel appeared on Napoleon's head.

L’avers représente le profil de Napoléon Ier, sans couronne de laurier, avec l’inscription « NAPOLEON EMPEREUR ». Cette effigie sobre met en avant son autorité naissante, avant qu’il n’adopte la symbolique impériale du laurier à partir de 1809.
Reverse: Symbol of the Empire
Le revers affiche la valeur faciale « 2 FRANCS », entourée d’une couronne de laurier et d’olivier, symboles de victoire et de prospérité. L’inscription « RÉPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE » rappelle encore l’héritage révolutionnaire, bien que le régime impérial soit en place.
